The registered large medical waste generator does not maintain individual treatment <br />records and shipping and tracking documents for 2 years. <br />- A large medical waste generator required to register with the EHD shall maintain <br />individual treatment operation records, and shipping and tracking documents for all <br />untreated medical waste shipped offsite for treatment for 2 years. HSC 117975(a) The <br />facility only provided access to records for 20 months. Provide evidence of final <br />treatment for medical waste shipped offsite for the records provided by 1/21/2019. <br />The American Red Cross took over the business as of March 1, 2017 and should only be <br />responsible for Mar 1, 2017. A copy of the Delta Blood tracking records from December 2016 <br />through March 1, 2017 is attached for your review, however that is under Delta Blood Bank. <br />23. Biohazard bag does not meet the standard set forth in HSC 117630. <br />-Ensure that the biohazard bag is a red disposable film bag that is impervious to moisture and <br />tear resistant. <br />HSC 117630. The small red biohazard bags in the storage area do not meet ASTM D1922 and <br />ASTM D1709. The bags should be discarded immediately to prevent use. <br />1 full box and 1 partial Abbott tip waste biohazard bags — discarded 01/09/2019. <br />The Medical Waste Management Plan (MWMP) has been updated to include the required <br />information as stated above in order to meet the California Health and Safety Codes HSC <br />117960 and HSC 117970. The MWMP Plan was updated on January 11, 2019. A copy of our <br />MWMP is attached for your review. <br />The American Red Cross takes our management of our Regulated Medical Waste very <br />seriously.
