Infectious wastes may be disposed of in an incinerator <br />providing complete combustion and approved bv the San <br />Joa:quin County Air Pollution Control District. <br />2. Joint use of an approved incinerator at another medical <br />or health facility may be permitted if written approval <br />is granted by the Local Health Officer. <br />3. Disposal at an 1wmA4i+l sanitary sewer <br />or other method of disposal of infectious wastes may be <br />permitted if all syringes and needles have been mutilated <br />or otherwise made unusable, all infectious wastes have <br />been autoclaved and rendered non-infectious, and written <br />approval is granted by the Local Health Officer. <br />4. Dis�posal of infectious wa . stes at an approved sanitary landfill <br />may be permitted bythelocal Health Officer providing the <br />following conditions are met: <br />a. All infectious waste should be securely wrapped <br />in an impervious material to prevent seepage of <br />blood, liquid or moisture. <br />b. The package should then be sealed with adhesive <br />tape to prevent it from opening during normal <br />handling. <br />c. The paper -wrapped packages should then be placed in <br />plastic bags and sealed. <br />d. The sealed plastic bags should be stored in tightly <br />covered rodent proof, metal garbage containers and <br />removed from the'premises at least twice weekly by <br />the local refuse collection service to an approved <br />sanitary landfill. <br />
