SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak GeoEnviron mental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Lorraine Paskett to <br /> conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for the proposed Paskett <br /> Winery located at 11070 East Woodbridge Road, Acampo, California (Plate 1). <br /> The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report <br /> cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has <br /> been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study <br /> Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br /> use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of <br /> Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br /> Proposed Develo-meet <br /> According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department, the <br /> proposed project involves "an off-site wine cellar facility to include the conversion of an <br /> existing 1,000 square foot accessory building into a wine tasting room and wine cellar <br /> and the conversion of an existing 250 square foot accessory building into a multi- <br /> purpose building." A site plan is included as Plate 2. <br /> Site Description <br /> The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 017-230-28. The Site is 5.07 acres <br /> (gross) in size. The County project application number is PA-1500206. The Site is <br /> located at 11070 East Woodbridge Road, Acampo. <br /> The Site currently contains a house (unoccupied), a guesthouse (unoccupied), a <br /> garage, and three sheds. A domestic water well, an irrigation well, and two septic <br /> systems serve the Site. The remainder of the parcel is vineyard (Plate 3). <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br /> map, is approximately 85 to 90 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat <br /> (Plate 4). <br /> According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department <br /> (www.co.san joaquin.ca.us), the subject property is zoned AG-40, general agriculture <br /> with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This zoning designation "is established to <br /> preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of commercial agricultural enterprises." <br /> LOGE 1729 Page 1 <br />
