NOTE: For additional information, refer to the Defender Series° Overfill Prevention Valve
Installation Guide.
1. Determine Dimension A:
• Measure from bottom of the tank to the top of OPW face seal adaptor in the OPW spill
container.
2. Determine Dimension X:
• Measure required length for the upper drop tube from the non-flanged end.
• Remove the flanged top.
• Follow steps 3 to 16 in OPW 7150 Installation & Maintenance Instructions (H15524PA)
referenced in Executive Order VR-102 to cut the upper drop tube and install the OPW
inlet tube.
3. Remove the flanged top of the upper drop tube.
X
OPERATIONAL INSPECTION
Use the FFS remote test tool to inspect the OPV.
n
1. Assemble the remote test tool with enough extension sections to reach the OPV.
2. Insert the remote test tool into the drop tube. You should feel a "pull" when the magnets
are positioned correctly and attract.
3. Slowly raise the remote test tool about 1%" (38 mm). You should see the flapper move into
the flow path. If you see the flapper moving back and forth, the OPV is functioning normally.
14
