0 0 <br /> SUBJECT Hazardous Material Sill <br /> _7 pPAGE 3 OF 3 <br /> 3.2-11 Complete an Unusual Occurrence Report. <br /> 4.0 Recovery Phase: The Recovery Phase consists of both psychological and physical <br /> injury that may have occurred. <br /> 4.1 If an employee became injured and is in need of medical treatment, immediate <br /> medical treatment will be provided. <br /> 4.1.1 The hospital first responder will ensure all work place injury <br /> documentation is complete. <br /> 4.2 Human Resources Director, designee, or the Emergency Preparedness <br /> Coordinator will provide the employees involved with Critical Incident Stress <br /> Management (CISM). Stages of CISM include: <br /> 4.2.1. Introduce team members to explain the process, and set expectations. <br /> 4.2.2 Allow the traumatic event from each participant's perspective on a <br /> cognitive level. <br /> 4.2.3 Allow participants to describe cognitive reactions and to transition to <br /> emotional reactions. <br /> 4.2.4 Identify the most traumatic aspect of the event for the participants and <br /> identify emotional reactions. <br /> 4.2.5 Identify personal symptoms of distress and transition back to cognitive <br /> level. <br /> 4.2.6 Education as to normal reaction and adaptive coping mechanism, i.e., <br /> stress management.
