Stages of CISM include: <br /> 4.2.1. Introduce team members to explain the process, and set expectations. <br /> 4.2.2 Allow the traumatic event from each participant's perspective on a <br /> cognitive level. <br /> 4.2.3 Allow participants to describe cognitive reactions and to transition to <br /> emotional reactions. <br /> 4.2.4 Identify the most traumatic aspect of the event for the participants and <br /> identify emotional reactions. <br /> 4.2.5 Identify personal symptoms of distress and transition back to cognitive <br /> level. <br /> 4.2.6 Education as to normal reaction and adaptive coping mechanism, i.e., <br /> stress management.
