Pharmaceutical waste is not segregated for storage. <br /> -Pharmaceutical waste shall be segregated for storage in accordance with the facility's medical waste management plan. <br /> Shipping container shall be in compliance with DOT and DEA.HSC 118275(a)(6) <br /> -Nonradioactive and non-RCRA pharmaceutical wastes,that are regulated as medical waste, shall be placed in a container or <br /> secondary container labeled with the words"HIGH HEAT"OR"INCINERATION ONLY"on the lid and sides, so as to be <br /> visible from any lateral direction.HSC 118275(a)(6)(B)—Corrected on site. <br /> Notes: <br /> 1.) Facility contracts with Stericycle for the removal of biohazardous waste,and Daniels Sharpsmart Inc. for the removal <br /> of pharmaceutical and biohazardous sharps waste.All sharps waste is placed in pharmaceutical waste containers <br /> which are picked up weekly by Daniels. <br /> 2.) Facility plans to switch to Stericycle for the removal of all medical waste on site. <br /> 3.) During this inspection it was observed that both Daniels and Stericycle are documenting the date that waste was <br /> received for treatment and not the date that the waste was physically treated. <br /> 4.) Medical waste is stored for pickup in a container north of the east building and in a room inside of the surgery center. <br /> 5.)
