The pole then pulled and disconnected a pad mounted transformer <br />resulting in a blue-stickered oil release of approximately 150-gallons. Impacted area is dirt and concrete surrounding <br />transformer. No waterways impacted. PG&E on site conducting repairs to restore power. PSC is on route to conduct clean <br />up. <br />OBSERVATIONS: <br />On 10/3/2022 San Joaquin County Environmental Health (EHD) was notified regarding a pad mounted transformer release <br />due to a vehicle striking and knocking down a power pole connected to the transformer. Approximately 150-gallons of oil <br />was released affecting the area around the transformer. No waterways were impacted. PSC was hired to conduct clean up. <br />They applied absorbent sand around the transformer and pumped out oil remaining in transformer. Transformer was <br />replaced and PSC continued clean up. Area surrounding the transformer was cleaned by PSC with absorbent sand and soil <br />was excavated around the concrete. Additional staining of oil was observed under the concrete pad. Met with Celia Barajas, <br />Environmental Field Specialist, PG&E who will update EHD on remediation plan for oil under concrete. <br />Please be advised that the disposal of any waste [HSC 5411] or disposal of any hazardous waste, or the causing thereof, is <br />prohibited when the disposal is at a facility that is not permitted or authorized for hazardous waste disposal. [HSC <br />25189.5(a).].
