During that time a PVC pipe broke causing a <br />release of an unknown amount of process water into the pond and on the soil. Spill traveled approximately 100 feet to the <br />south and 80 feet to the north in a two foot wide path on the soil. Spill went down approximately 4 inches in to the soil. <br />Pump has been locked out and is in the process of being repaired. An outside contractor is being hired to conduct clean-up <br />of the impacted soil. No storm drains or waterways were impacted. Soil has been marked with orange marking paint <br />around release. Clean-up will occur sometime this week and waste will be disposed of as non-RCRA hazardous waste. <br />Process waters may contain fertilizers or constituents of fertilizers.-JR Simplot to notify SJC EHD when clean-up will occur <br />for verification prior to any backfilling. <br />JR Simplot to notify SJC EHD prior to any sampling. <br />-JR Simplot to provide SJC EHD with copies of final disposal records for any waste generated from the clean-up. <br />-JR Simplot to provide SJC EHD with a copy of any analytical results. <br />JR Simplot to provide information/documentation to confirm that: <br />The fertilizer products processed at the facility are not hazardous, OR <br />If the fertilizer products have hazardous properties, provide documentation to show that the processed water does not <br />contain any fertilizer products (or detected at levels that are not hazardous), OR <br />All impacted soil has been adequately removed.
