If governmental reference standards are not available, purchased standards (e.g. ERA) are used. They are el so used to assess trends in performance and for statistical evaluations of precision and accuracy. _ Standard Sample Preparation (water): Organic Analysis Standard Samples are prepared by adding the analyte of interest to distilled water (ASTM Type Ii).
