EPA. NBZ-) and are used t0 check and document
caiibraticr. and °nethod data. The frequence of these external
checKs IS one standard r.er batch if.the reference is available,
the frequency is also based on auality assurance orotocols, the
workload of tee laboratory and the perfcrrnance of specific
analytical rnethces and the instrumentation used for the analysis
performed. If governmental reference standards are not available,
purchased standards (e.g. ERA) are used. The data gained by the
resul is of these checks assess the accuracy of deterrr;i nation and
help ensure the auality of data generated. They are el so used to
assess trends in performance and for statistical evaluations of
precision and accuracy. _
Standard Sample Preparation (water):
Organic Analysis Standard Samples are prepared by adding the
analyte of interest to distilled water (ASTM Type Ii). Inor canic
Analysis Standard Samples will be prepared by adding the analyte
of interest to deionized water.
