The site accepts an average of 500 tons per day of <br />commercial and industrial refuse as described above from the <br />Delta Container Corporation and commercial haulers. The <br />general public is not allowed to dispose at this site as a <br />condition of Use Permit No. U-73-9. The landfill Is <br />operated as a trench fill with the excavated earth <br />stockpiled and utilized for cover. Refuse Is placed and <br />compacted with Caterpillar compactors. Cell construction is <br />composed of several layers of waste compacted in a trench by <br />heavy equipment and enclosed on all sides by soil. <br />Compaction is achieved by operating the compactor on the <br />working face with between 3 and S passes on I to 2 toot <br />waste layers.
