Box 6336 <br /> Stockton, CA 95206 <br /> FORWARD LANDFILL, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> We have reviewed your letters of request for(1)Installation and Decommissioning of Monitoring <br /> Wells, dated 9 May 1996, and(2)Bioremediation Pads,dated 1 April 1996,for the Forward <br /> Landfill facility,San Joaquin County. <br /> Based on our review and our recent meeting of 22 May 1996,the workplan for the installation and <br /> decommissioning of monitoring points has been found acceptable by Board staff. Please submit a <br /> report of the construction and development for the monitoring wells and lysimeter, and <br /> decommissioning certification, as appropriate. <br /> We anticipate receiving documentation of sampling results and certification of clean closure for <br /> Bioremediation Pad 1994-1995. As discussed in the 22 May 1996 meeting,Forward, Inc. <br /> proposes to expand to Bioremediation Pad 1996 treatment area this summer. Closure of the 1996 <br /> pad entails excavating approximately 20 feet down from the current elevation. Sampling and <br /> analysis of soils upon closure of the pad are required to verify clean closure prior to constructing <br /> the liner system of a new landfill cell.
