r <br /> a ATTACHMENT B <br /> • <br /> UNIT NAME: WASTE MANAGEMENT UNIT A (LANDFILL) <br /> RSS IDI: 10232 ACTIVITY TYPE: DISPOSAL <br /> WASTE CLASSIFICATION: RC /STATE UNIVERSE: DISPOSAL <br /> CATION: <br /> Waste Management Unit A is located at the northeast corner of the <br /> Forward Landfill,, adjacent to the Entrance Facilities Area. <br /> PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION <br /> Waste Management Unit A covers approximately eight acres and <br /> contains approximately 3200000 cubic yards of waste. The waste <br /> is contained in four disposal trenches within the unit. A clay <br /> barrier layer, two foot thick, covers the entire unit. A <br /> vegetative layer covers the clay cap. There are three leachate <br /> collection systems exist within Waste Management Unit A. <br /> ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION <br /> This is a closed landfill and no waste has been placed at Waste <br /> Management Unit A since 1984. Only post-closure monitoring, <br /> inspection, and maintenance activities are permitted at this <br /> unit. Ongoing leachate collection and recovery activities ° <br /> involve the pumping of collected leachate to a lined surface <br /> impoundment (Waste Management Unit F) for evaporation. A network <br /> of groundwater monitoring wells is used to detect potential <br /> releases of waste constituents from Waste Management Unit A. <br /> DESIGNCAPACITY: 3200000 CUBIC YARDS (NO ADDITIONALCAPACITY) <br /> PERMITTED RCRA WASTE PES: NONE <br /> PERMITTED RCRA WASTE CODES: NONE <br /> PERMITTED STATE WASTE TYPES: NONE <br /> 'PERMITTED STATE WASTE DES.
