Between the holidays and folks
being on PTO, we were finally able to get a hold of the GPRS inspectors who conducted the GPR/EMI survey of the
Bonnie Plants facility. Addressing your questions in red below:
Photos sent to us by San Joaquin County and photos included in the report of the exhumed vehicle appear to
show one vehicle body and six wheels. This seems to suggest that an additional vehicle may be present in the
area that was excavated. During your work, was there any indication that an additional vehicle body or
components had already been disposed of by Bonnie Plants or it's employees? No indications of any additional
vehicles or vehicle components were identified during Atlas' various visits of the site, from the GPRS technicians,
or from any on-site staff members.
The report concludes that the ground penetrating radar/electromagnetic imaging survey results indicated no
additional cars were buried at the site. However, the areas identified as areas 6 & 7 on the included survey
results figure show responses that don't seem to be related to surface features. What was the reasoning for not
investigating these areas further? GPRS staff confirmed that no additional buried cars were identified in their
survey. With regard to the red areas on GPRS' map in Area 7, they suspect that a large metal dumpster located
in this area was affecting the scan. In Area 6, a concrete pad with potentially had reinforcement may have
affected the readings. Nonetheless, the GPRS team did not consider these reading interferences to be
significant, as they determined there was no visual evidence of any excavation or buried debris in these areas.
If you have any further questions, please let us know. Thank you.
Noll Valera
Branch Manager
0: 925.460.5300 C: 510.342.4459
From: Young, Holly@Waterboards <Holly.Young@Waterboards.ca.gov>
Sent: Tuesday, January 17, 2023 9:37 AM
To: Noli Valera <Noli.Valera@oneatlas.com >; Alaniz, John [EHD] <jalaniz1@sigov.org>
Subject: [EXTERNAL] RE: Bonnie Plants Facility Follow Up Questions
[External Email] This email originated from outside of the Atlas mail system.
