Hi Noli,
Please see Holly's response below.
Thank You,
John Alaniz, RENS
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
209-616-3053
From: Young, Holly@Waterboards <Holly.Young@Waterboards.ca.gov>
Sent: Tuesday, December 13, 2022 8:36 AM
To: matt.livingston@oneatlas.conn
Cc: Alaniz, John [END] <jalaniz1@sigov.org>
Subject: Bonnie Plants Facility Follow Up Questions
Hi Matt,
I am an Engineering Geologist in the Central Valley Water Board's Site Cleanup Program, and the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department reached out to us to assist in evaluating a case that you worked on. The site is the
Bonnie Plants Facility in Linden, CA. San Joaquin County sent us the Site Assessment and Corrective Actions Report
(attached for you reference) to ask if we thought additional work would be needed at the site. Based on my review of
the report, I have a few follow up questions:
Photos sent to us by San Joaquin County and photos included in the report of the exhumed vehicle appear to
show one vehicle body and six wheels. This seems to suggest that an additional vehicle may be present in the
area that was excavated. During your work, was there any indication that an additional vehicle body or
components had already been disposed of by Bonnie Plants or it's employees?
The report concludes that the ground penetrating radar/electromagnetic imaging survey results indicated no
additional cars were buried at the site. However, the areas identified as areas 6 & 7 on the included survey
results figure show responses that don't seem to be related to surface features. What was the reasoning for not
investigating these areas further?
I'd appreciate any information you're able to share in response to my above questions. Or, if there is another person
who would be better suited to provide answers, would you be able to provide their contact information?
Thank you,
Holly Young
Engineering Geologist
Site Cleanup Program, Federal Cleanup Unit
Central Valley Water Board
11020 Sun Center Drive, Suite 200
Rancho Cordova, CA 95670
Tel: 916-464-4669
Email: holly.young@waterboards.ca.gov
This message and any attachments are intended only for the use of the addressee and may contain information that is privileged and/or confidential.
