Mr. Joseph Lipka
Forward Landfill
May 21, 2018
Page 3
Safety and Health (Cal-OSHA), and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial
Hygienists (ACGIH) for airborne asbestos fibers range from 0.1 to 2.0 f/cc for those fibers
greater than 5.0 microns in length. The Environmental Protection Agency has published
environmental clearance levels for asbestos fibers at 0.01 to 0.02 f/cc.
As mentioned previously, asbestos fibers were not detected in any of the samples. The detection
limits reported by the laboratory for the locations sampled during April 2018 are several orders
of magnitude below applicable published occupational and environmental exposure or clearance
criteria. No differences were observed between the upwind and downwind monitoring locations
indicating that the disposal operations did not increase the background concentrations of
asbestos fibers in the vicinity of the site.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide the requested services. Please call if you have any
questions.
Sincerely,

FIELD SOLUTIONS, INC.

PATRICK LACEY, CIH
FIELD SERVICES MANAGER

Attachments: Figure 1 – Ambient Asbestos Air Monitoring Locations
Appendix A– Air Monitoring Plan, Forward Landfill
Appendix B – Laboratory Reports and Chain of Custody Record
