Austin Road Manteca, CA 95336 (209)982-4298, Fax (209) 982-1009 FORWARD LANDFILL; SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA This letter is to inform you that Forward is planning to relocate the existing scalehouse and scales from their current location (approximately 2200-ft west of main entrance) to a new location approximately 1500-ft north of the main entrance (adjacent to the west side of Austin Road road). The scales and scalehouse are being relocated to allow construction of WMU FU- 19, which is the landfill cell located between the Forward and Austin Units of the landfill. The WMU FU-19 landfill cell, also referred to as the wedge cell, and the planned relocation of the scales and scalehouse were reviewed under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) regulations as part of the Consolidated Forward Landfill Project (Final Environmental Impact Report, Consolidated Forward Landfill Project, SCH #2001052081; GEC, Dec 2002) and approved by the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors under UP-00-7. The cell, and the approximate location of the relocated scales and scalehouse, are also detailed in the most recent Joint Technical Document (JTD) for the Forward Landfill (Joint Technical Document, Forward Landfill ($WIS No. 39-AA-015); SWT Engineering, Jan 2018). Attached are the drawings for the planned scales and scalehouse relocation. These drawings have also been submitted to County Planning and Public Works to obtain the necessary building and grading permits. Construction is currently scheduled to occur in Spring 2019.
