Body Art Facility Requirements <br />H&SC 11.9313 and 119314 <br />Written Infection Prevention and Control Plan (IPCP) 119313 <br />a) Procedure for decontaminating and disinfection surfaces <br />b) Procedures for decontaminating, packaging, sterilizing and storing reusable instruments <br />c) Procedure for protecting clean instruments and sterile instrument pack from dust and <br />moisture during storage <br />d) Set up and tear down procedure for any form of body art that is performed at the facility <br />e) Techniques to prevent the contamination of instruments or the procedure site during the <br />performance of body art <br />f) Procedures for the safe handling and disposal of sharps waste <br />g) Revisions to IPCP <br />h) Training records for IPCP <br />1) list of employees and practitioners <br />2) Dates of training <br />3) Type of training (initial, after revisions of the IPCP, and annual) <br />❑ Body art facility construction requirements 119314 (a) <br />a) Floors, walls and ceilings that are smooth and free of open holes and washable <br />b) Free of rodent and insect infestation <br />c) Separate from residential areas used for sleeping <br />d) Body art facility associated with a residential dwelling shall have separate entrance and <br />toilet. There shall not be a door allowing direct access between the body art facility and the <br />residential dwelling. <br />e) No animals allowed <br />❑ Procedure areas 119314 (b) <br />a) Equipped adequate light source <br />b) Separate by a wall or ceiling -to -floor partition, fi-om nail and hair activities <br />c) Equipped with a sink that has hot and cold running water, liquid soap in a wall mount <br />dispenser and single use towels from a wall mounted, touchless dispenser that is accessible <br />to the practitioner. <br />d) Equipped with sharps container <br />1) That is portable <br />2) Labeled sharps waste or bio -hazardous <br />3) Handled and disposed in accordance with the Medical Waste Act <br />e) No animals allowed <br />❑ Decontamination and sanitation areas 119314 (c) <br />a) Separated from practitioner are by at least 5 feet or by a cleanable barrier <br />b) Equipped with a sink that has hot and clod running water, liquid soap in a wall mount <br />dispenser and single use towels from a wall mounted, touchless dispenser that is accessible <br />to the practitioner <br />c) Equipped with lined waste containers <br />e) Equipped with sharps container <br />1) That is portable <br />2) Labeled sharps waste or bio -hazardous <br />3) Handled and disposed in accordance with the Medical Waste Act <br />f) No animals allowed. <br />
