Determine the existence and concentration of selected
components in the soil in the three areas of concern. '
2. Evaluate the findings to determine the general extent
of petroleum hydrocarbon migration in the area where
the tank , sump , and piping were located . i
r
-` The general scope of this investigation , which is deemed 1
I
necessary to achieve the above-stated objectives , is as follows :
1 . Using a drilling rig , drill three test borings to a
maximum depths of 5 and 10 feet below previous sampling
depths .
2. Obtain soil samples from each boring at depths of 5
feet and 10 feet below the original sample depths in
each area of concern.
I
F 3. Analyze each soil sample in the laboratory for the
presence and concentration of selected .
F= TECHNICAL APPROACH
We propose to obtain two soil samples in each of the three
areas of concern. Representative soil samples will be collected co
Ffrom Boring No . 1 at depths of 20 and 25 feet , from Boring No .
at depths of 10 and 15 feet , and from Boring No .4 at depths of 8
Fand 13 feet . These soil samples will be collected from locations
that correspond to depths of 5 and 10 feet below the original
F
soil samples obtained at the time the underground transformer oil
#-+ ]G
Fresno Modesto Visalia Bakersfield
f
