After removal operations were complete , soil
samples were obtained from the excavations in the presence of
t
personnel from the San Joaquin Local Health District . Locations
of the soil samples are presented on Drawing No . 2 . Due to
uncertain weather conditions and safety concerns , the excavations
Fwere backfilled and compacted .
On January 26 , 1987 , results of the soil samples obtained
t duringthe loperations were submitted to Ms . Lauri
closure o P e
Cotulla of the San Joaquin Local Health District . Upon review of
the results , Ms . Cotulla and Mr .
k Karl Kerner of our office , there are three areas that warrant
i
further investigation . These three areas of concern are : 1 )
Fsoil beneath the underground tank towards the fill end , 2 ) soil
beneath the sump , and 3 ) soil beneath the product line from the
Ff
sump to the pump . These areas represent soil sample locations
SI , S2 , and S4 respectively , as shown on Drawing No . 2 .
Fresno Modesto Visalia Bakersfield
Fl;
