VESERIS
Contingency Pier:
Section 9 —
First Aid / Medical Assistance
Effective Date
9/20/2021
In most, if not all, situations of exposure the following emergency
procedures should be implemented:
Remove the victim from the exposure - get them into fresh air.
Keep the victim warm.
Reassure and calm the victim.
Remove constrictive and contaminated clothing.
Administer oxygen if available.
In all emergency situations be sure to call for professional medical assistance as
soon as possible. Take a copy of the appropriate current Safety Data Sheets to
the emergency room or other medical facility. If the computer system is not
available due to a power failure or other situation, SDSs can be faxed to the
medical facility from any available Veseris office. Additionally, SDSs are on file
and available by fax from CHEMTREC at 1-800-424-9300.
In the event of an incident, implement the appropriate medical surveillance
aspects of the HAZVVOPER program.
