Our contractor estimated that
they collected 1,998 gallons of sewage from the containment berm. At this time, the release has been stopped and the
south sewage treatment plant has been emptied. The facility has initiated repair work on the tank (thickness testing and
reinforcement with metal plates in areas that are thin). The pumped sewage has been placed in the north treatment
plant. The soil used to construct the containment berm has been placed in roll-off bins and will be profiled and disposed
of in an appropriate manner. I have updated OES with these facts and am copying our Water Board compliance contact
here.
If I am reading the CA rules correctly, no follow-up report is required if the release did not exceed any federal RQs. I
review the federal List of Lists and verified that sewage does not have an RQ; no follow-up report will be issued.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Rachel Roskelley
Sr. Environmental Programs Manager
J.R.
