4 Environmental Analysis
4.10 Hydrology/Water Quality
oo Construction of the Project would be temporary and short term;
cc O&M activities would span the life of the Project, but would require negligible amounts of
groundwater; and
c),- Decommissioning activities would occur after the Project's life expectancy (i.e., 35 years)
and also would be temporary and short term.
Groundwater pumping would be regulated by the Basin Plan. In addition, the water required for
construction and decommissioning of the Project is a minor use of a resource that provides only
a small percentage of the general water use in the subbasin. It should be noted that the current
water requirement for natural vegetation in the Project site location exceeds the expected water
requirement for the Project over its lifespan. Finally, the Project would not substantially increase
impervious surface area and runoff controlled such that it would not be available for local
recharge. Therefore, groundwater use and recharge would not be substantially altered by the
Project, and the Project would not contribute to cumulatively considerable impacts to
groundwater.
4.10.8 References
ACCDA (Alameda County Community Development Agency). 2000.
