Visual Impact Assessment Griffith Energy Storage Project 6.3.1 Construction The proposed Project would involve both temporary and permanent changes to the visual character of the site.Temporary changes are associated with construction activities, including construction equipment,staging,and Site construction.These visual impacts would be short-term in nature and are not considered to be significant. Level of Significance: No significant impact. 6.3.2 Operation 6.3.2.1 KOP 1 The Project would introduce neutral colors,geometric shapes,and horizontal and vertical lines into the landscape setting.The soundwall is a neutral earth-tone color.The Project would be visible from this location by a casual observer;see Figure 6.The regular geometric forms and horizontal and vertical lines associated with the battery storage enclosures,gen-tie line, and associated infrastructure would result in a visual contrast with the irregular,organic forms of the existing landform and vegetation.The earth tone color of the sound wall would blend in with the landscape, especially during the drier months when the surrounding vegetation is predominantly tan.As shown in the simulation,the surrounding fields are tan in color and the Project blends into the landscape setting.The existing structures in the vicinity possess horizontal and vertical lines (agricultural building, Midway Road,fencing,transmission towers and lines,and utility poles and lines). Particularly,the transmission towers and the fencing in the foreground and the agricultural building demand attention and are dominant in the landscape.An analysis of potential visual impacts is summarized in Table 3.
