A static pile with temperatures above 160°F is at risk of fire due to chemical oxidation. <br /> a. The operator shall provide fire prevention, protection and control measures, including, but not limited to, <br /> temperature monitoring of windrows and piles, adequate water supply for fire suppression, and the isolation of <br /> potential ignition sources from combustible materials. Firelanes shall be provided to allow fire control equipment <br /> access to all operation areas. 14 CCR § 17867(a)(9) <br /> Inspection Report Comments: <br /> Conducted a monthly inspection on this date and noted the following: <br /> Notes: <br /> 1. Moderate track-out observed on Austin Road. <br /> 2. Odors were normal. <br /> 3. A dog was observed inside the facility. The operator stated that facility personnel were attempting to capture and <br /> remove the dog. <br /> 4. Records were available for review. <br /> 5. The daily tonnage for incoming green waste ranged from 380 tons to 499 tons with an average of 445 tons and a <br /> mean and mode of 450 tons for the period of June 1, 2020 through June 16, 2020. <br /> 6. The temperatures recorded in the Incoming Green Waste Piles Log ranged from 95°F to 1117. <br /> 7. The Temperatures recorded in the Windrow Temperature Log ranged from1360F to 160°F for the 44 windrows logged. <br /> 8. The following temperatures ranges measured during the inspection. Incoming green waste ranged from 122°F to <br /> 164°F. Ground green waste ranged from 138°F to 172°F. Windrows ranged from 1460F to 168°F. Finished compost <br /> ranged from 114°F to 134°F.
