Piercin Aftercare <br /> Instruc ions <br /> Aftercare is a vital step in having a problem-free piercing experience. Please follow the following <br /> aftercare instructions carefully for best results and to avoid problems such as infection. <br /> DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PIERCING. The only time you will touch your piercing is when you clean it. Before touching <br /> your piercing,ensure you thoroughly wash your hands first. <br /> DO NOT REMOVE YOUR JEWELRY. New piercings can shrink and start to heal once the jewelry is removed. To <br /> maintain your piercing,do not remove it. <br /> STERILE SALINE SPRAY <br /> I.Wash your hands thoroughly. <br /> 2.Eicher spray the saline directly on the piercing to liberally flush the piercing, or soak a non-woven gauze in saline, and0 <br /> apply that to the piercing. <br /> 3.You may need to use a Q-tip or non-woven gauze to gently clean away any debris that has collected around the piercing <br /> on the jewelry. <br /> 4.It is unnecessary to rinse the saline away. However, if you rinse, make sure it is with clean, running water. <br /> 5.If your jewelry is threaded (such as barbells), check it to ensure it remains tight. <br /> CLEANING DURING BATHING ROUTINE-NO MORE THAN ONCE DAILY <br /> 1.First,wash your hands thoroughly with the same mild soap you will use to clean your piercing. <br /> 2.Next,lather your hands with a mild liquid soap, then lather the jewelry and the area around the piercing for 30-60 seconds. <br /> 3.You may need to use a Q-tip or non-woven gauze to gently clean away any debris that has collected around the piercing <br /> on the jewelry. <br /> 4.Rinse all soap and suds away under clean running water. If the jewelry moves easily, you may rotate it; however, don't <br /> force it if it does not move smoothly.After rinsing,pat the area dry with a clean paper towel. <br /> k' 5.If your jewelry is threaded (such as barbells), check it to ensure it's still tight. <br /> DOs and DON'Ts <br /> • Do NOT touch your piercing, except when you are cleaning it <br /> • Do NOT use any aftercare products or ointments that were not suggested by your piercer <br /> • Do NOT get lotions or makeup in or around your piercing. <br /> • Do NOT use pools, hot tubs, lakes, rivers,etc.,while your piercing is healing <br /> • Do NOT clean your piercing more often than is suggested, as over-cleaning can slow the healing process and cause more <br /> harm than good. <br /> • DO take a multivitamin containing zinc and vitamin C to boost your body's healing abilities. <br /> • DO keep in mind that stress,poor diet,drug abuse, or illness can cause extended healing times or other difficulties. <br /> • DO make sure your bedding is clean. This is especially important if you have pets that sleep in your bed. <br /> • DO contact a physician or us right away if you feel your piercing is infected. Although we are not doctors, we are happy <br /> to give suggestions based on our experience. Remember that some redness, tenderness, swelling, and discharge are normal <br /> still, we advise clients to consult a health care professional for unexpected redness, tenderness, or swelling at the site, any <br /> rash, or unexpected drainage from the piercing. or fever within 24 hours of the piercing procedure. <br /> SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF INFECTIONS: <br /> Signs and symptoms of body piercing in/ection include redness, swelling, pain and pris or discharge from piercing site. Other signs may <br /> include a fever, red streaks radiating towards the heart, and swollen or tender lymph nodes. if you experience any of these symptoms, it's <br /> important to seek medical advice. <br />
