Disposal Facility (Site) Inspection Report (52) <br /> Foothill Sanitary Landfill (39-AA-0004) <br /> 4/20/2023 <br /> 1. No trash migrating offsite. <br /> 2. The public and commercial loads both get dumped in the same area. Tarps and soil is <br /> utilized for daily cover. Employees were observed wearing proper PPE. One spotter was on <br /> site directing traffic. Backup alarms were audible on heavy equipment. Bird whistlers were <br /> used for bird control. The compactor was not operational at the time of the inspection. The <br /> operator informed inspection staff they are currently working on it and it should be operational <br /> in 20 minutes. <br /> 3. Water truck was observed spraying for dust control. <br /> 4. The recycling area was neat and organized. The mattress recycling area had 9 mattresses <br /> waiting to be loaded. <br /> 5. Both flares were operational. <br /> 6. Retention ponds were observed to be full at the time of the inspection. <br /> 7. The facility has a methane plant and solar farm on site to generate electricity that is then <br /> sold to PG&E. <br /> 8. Signs were posted at the scale house and entrance with rates, acceptable materials, and <br /> contact information. <br /> 9. Records were reviewed for the last 18 months. The load check logs need to be revised. <br /> Please indicate which truck was inspected, and if any material was rejected from the load. <br /> 10.
