Forward Landfill WMU FU-23 <br />02778 1 HDPE GEOMEMBRANE <br />SECTION 02778 <br />HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (HDPE) GEOMEMBRANE <br /> <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br /> <br />1.1 WORK INCLUDED <br /> A. This section covers the Work necessary to furnish and install 60-mil single-sided and double-sided textured high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane liner in WMU FU-23, complete. B. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the HDPE geomembrane installation including, but not limited to, submittals, panel layout, seaming, patching, temporary anchorage, temporary slip sheeting, and all necessary and incidental items required to complete the Work in accordance with these Specifications and the Construction Drawings. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR will perform excavation and backfilling of anchor trenches and will unload the HDPE geomembrane if the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR is not onsite. <br /> <br />C. A leak location test will be performed on the geomembrane before and after placement of the granular drainage material and protective operations layer. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for repairing all identified leaks in the geomembrane prior to placement of the overlying earthwork and geosynthetic materials at his sole expense. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for repairing all identified leaks in the geomembrane following placement of the overlying earthwork and geosynthetic materials. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall remove all earthwork and geosynthetic materials overlying the geomembrane to the extent required to repair the leak and shall repair all identified leaks in the geomembrane at his sole expense. Following the repair of the leak in the geomembrane, the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall replace all earthwork and geosynthetic materials at his sole expense. All Work performed to repair and replace materials shall be performed in accordance with the applicable Specifications sections. <br /> <br /> 1.2 REFERENCES A.
