All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR OBSERVATIONS: Free chlorine was above 10 ppm. Adjust to 3-10 ppm. This was corrected on site. Free chlorine at 9.4 ppm after correction. (REPEAT) CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) #3 Safety Signs OBSERVATIONS: The diarrhea sign (Notice Persons Having Currently Active Diarrhea Or Who Have Had Active Diarrhea Within The Previous 14 Days Shall Not Be Allowed To Enter The Pool Water) is not posted and the emergency shut off sign is faded and illegible. All safety signs shall be posted. Correct today. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) #18 Pool Shell and Tile OBSERVATIONS: Heavy pitting observed in spa shell. Plan to have spa re-plastered in the future. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool shells shall be white and have a smooth waterproof interior finish that will withstand repeated brushing, and scrubbing. A spa pool may be finished in a light color other than white when approved by the enforcement agency. (CBC 3108B) #31 Disinfectant Feeders OBSERVATIONS: Chlorine tablets were observed in the skimmer. Only feed chemicals automatically. Correct today. (REPEAT) CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Each pool shall be provided with a system capable of continuous disinfection of the pool water. (CBC 3123B) Disinfectant feeders shall be capable of supplying not less than the equivalent of 3 pounds of 100 percent available chlorine per day per 10,000 gallons of pool water.
