Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and have the potential to cause foodborne illness.All major violations must be corrected immediately.Non-compliance may warrant immediate closure of <br /> the food facility. <br /> #32 Food Properly Labeled and Honestly Presented <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Observed cream pies from third party on display for sale without being properly labeled. Pies were <br /> removed from display. Ensure prepackaged food items are either properly labeled or have documentation present at the <br /> point of sale. Ensure all food that is being sold to the public is from an approved source. Provide labels or post source <br /> information for each prepackaged product. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Any food is misbranded if its labeling is false or misleading, if it is offered for sale under the name of another <br /> food, or if it is an imitation of another food for which a definition and standard of identity has been established by regulation. Food facilities <br /> with 19 or more chains in the state shall disclose nutritional information. Observed pies is display case from a <br /> third party seller. Per manager she is unsure if the pies are made from a commercial kitchen or a home kitchen.The manager <br /> removed pies from display case.The manager will provide contact information to seller to contact EHD for more information <br /> on where the pies are made and how to obtain the proper permits to sell. Facility to ensure all food that is being sold to the <br /> public is from an approved source.
