The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been <br /> addressed for CHARTER WAY 76 as of February 02, 2024. <br /> Open violations from December 27, 2023 inspection <br /> Violation#304-Failed to maintain adequate aisle space for unobstructed response to emergencies. <br /> OBSERVATION: The following area does not have adequate aisle space:the hazardous waste area behind the <br /> dumpster. Due to trash overflow,this area is inaccessible and the facility or emergency personnel will be unable to <br /> access the hazardous waste drums or the spill kit present behind the dumpsters. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: The owner or operator shall maintain aisle space to allow the unobstructed movement <br /> of personnel,fire protection equipment, spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment to any area of <br /> facility operation in an emergency, unless it can be demonstrated to the Department that aisle space is not needed <br /> for any of these purposes. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately maintain aisle space to allow the unobstructed movement of personnel,fire <br /> protection, spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment to any area of facility operation in an <br /> emergency. Provide a corrective action statement to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> within 30 days. <br /> ❑ This violation was corrected ❑This violation will be corrected by(date): <br /> ❑ Supporting documents included <br /> Describe actions taken or will be taken to correct violation: <br /> Violation#605-Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste. <br /> OBSERVATION: Hazardous waste containers were observed on-site with incomplete labeling. The containers <br /> were:drums with oily water in the hazardous waste area behind the dumpsters. The label on these drums were not <br /> visible at the time of inspection because they were inaccessible. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: the <br /> words"Hazardous Waste", name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, composition <br /> (contents), accumulation start date <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately make the labels visible as required for hazardous waste .
