Box 4025
Sacramento, CA 95812-4025
Subject: Comments Received Regarding Forward RRF (39-AA-0020)Permit Application
This letter is to inform CalRecycle of public comments received regarding the Forward RRF
permit application for a permit revision and RFI amendments. A Public Informational Meeting
was held on 10/13/14. During the meeting no written comments were received. There was one
verbal comment made by Diane Boudreaux. Diane, speaking on behalf of Clean San Joaquin,
stated that Clean San Joaquin's stance has not changed. Clean San Joaquin supports the denial
of the provision and seeks closure for Forward Landfill. Diane then asked if Forward Landfill
would implement closure practices prior to closure and what would those closure practices be?
Robert McClellon responded by saying that Forward has already implemented partial closure(in
regards to the Austin Road Landfill) and is progressively closing off sections as operations move
along.
No steps will be taken by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)
relative to the above mentioned comments due to the fact that these comments do not directly
relate to this permit revision or RFI amendments.
Comments were received on 10/8/14 from Shute Mihaly& Weinberger, LLP (on behalf of Clean
San Joaquin). The EHD responded to those comments on 10/10/14 summarizing changes that
would be made to the RFIs and conditions that would be added to the draft permit.
