The polyethylene resin shall meet or exceed the requirements of ASTM D3350 for PE 3408 material with a cell classification of 345464C, or better and a material classification of III C5 P34. Driscopipe of Richardson, TX, Model Driscopipe 1000 pipe and Plexco of Benseville, IL, Model Plexco PE 3408 Industrial Piping meet these reqirements. 2. The polyethylene compound shall be suitably protected against degradation by ultraviolet light by means of carbon black, well dispersed by precompounding in a concentration of not less than 2 percent. 3. The maximum allowable hoop stress shall be 800 psi at 73.4 F. 4. The pipe manufacturer shall be listed with the Plastic Pipe Institute as meeting the recipe and mixing requirements of the resin manufacturer for the resin used to manufacture the pipe for this project. 5. Pipe sizes shall conform to ASTM F714. 6. The pipe shall conform to the following schedule: <br /> Nominal Pipe Size <br />Piping System and/or Location SDR <br />18 inch Solid and Perforated Leachate Riser Pipe 11 <br />24 inch Pond Inlet Pipe and Culvert 11 <br />30 inch Pond Inlet Pipe and Culvert 11 <br /> <br /> 7. Perforate required portions of 18-inch pipe with 1/2-inch diameter holes <br />drilled on thirds, spaced 6-inches on center. <br /> <br />2.2 FITTINGS <br /> <br /> A. Polyethylene fittings shall be fabricated from polyethylene pipe for sizes 8-inch <br />and larger, by means of thermal butt-fusion. The ends of the fabricated fittings <br />shall not be trimmed to match the pipe section to which they are going to be <br />joined. All polyethylene fittings shall have the same or higher pressure rating as <br />the pipe when installed in accordance with the latest technical specifications. <br /> <br />2.3 JOINTS <br /> <br /> A. Thermal butt-fusion, except where connecting to unions, valves, and equipment <br />with threaded connections that may require future disassembly. <br /> <br />2.4 ONE-WAY VALVE <br /> <br />A. Submit proposed one-way valve to Design Engineer for review and approval. <br />
