<br /> <br /> <br />FORWARD COMPOST FACILITY STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS GEOSYNTHETC <br />02777 1 CLAY LINER <br /> <br />SECTION 02777 GEOSYNTHETIC CLAY LINER (GCL) PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.1 WORK INCLUDED <br />A. This section covers the Work necessary to furnish and install Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL), complete. B. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the GCL installation including, but not limited to, submittals, panel layout, seaming, temporary anchorage, and all necessary and incidental items required to complete the Work in accordance with these Specifications and the Construction Drawings. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR will excavate and backfill anchor trenches. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR will unload the GCL if the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR is not onsite. <br /> C. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall be prepared to install the GCL sequentially with the subgrade preparation, geomembrane installation, placement of soil cover materials, and installation of the other components of the liner system. <br /> D. Prior to, during, and after installation, GCL shall not be allowed to hydrate and/or come in contact with water. <br />1.2 REFERENCES <br /> A. American Society for Testing and Materials [ASTM]: 1.
