All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR OBSERVATIONS: The free chlorine level is at 50 ppm. Adjust to 2-10.0 ppm today. The pool will remain closed until a reinspection is done. NOTE: employee states pool has been closed since last year. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid,2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) #1 Pool Gates OBSERVATIONS: The entrance gate does not close by itself. Correct as soon as possible. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION:Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area except where otherwise prohibited by law. (CBC 31198) Pool operator shall keep gates and doors leading into the pool area well maintained. (CCR 65535) #3 Safety Signs OBSERVATIONS: Move the diarrhea notice to the entrance gate. Provide a "No swimming after dark" sign on the entrance gate. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained.(CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified.(CBC 31208) #8 Pool and Deck Lighting OBSERVATIONS: The pool lights look to be disconnected. Provide a letter from a licensed electrician that states pool lights have been disconnected in 1 week. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION:Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the pool. When a pool is used at night, pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK"and shall secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark.
