All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS: The free chlorine level is at 50 ppm. Adjust to 2-10.0 ppm today. <br /> The pool will remain closed until a reinspection is done. NOTE: employee states pool has been closed since last year. <br /> VIOLATION DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall <br /> maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid,2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with <br /> cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 <br /> ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #1 Pool Gates <br /> OBSERVATIONS: The entrance gate does not close by itself. Correct as soon as possible. <br /> VIOLATION DESCRIPTION:Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. <br /> Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area <br /> except where otherwise prohibited by law. (CBC 31198) Pool operator shall keep gates and doors leading into the pool area well <br /> maintained. (CCR 65535) <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br /> OBSERVATIONS: Move the diarrhea notice to the entrance gate. <br /> Provide a "No swimming after dark" sign on the entrance gate. <br /> VIOLATION DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained.(CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br /> letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar <br /> permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified.(CBC 31208) <br /> #8 Pool and Deck Lighting <br /> OBSERVATIONS: The pool lights look to be disconnected. Provide a letter from a licensed electrician that states pool lights <br /> have been disconnected in 1 week. <br /> VIOLATION DESCRIPTION:Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the <br /> pool. When a pool is used at night, pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is <br /> not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK"and shall <br /> secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark.
