(..J
PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION
Karen Furst, M.D., M.P.H., Health Officer
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor • Stockton, CA 95202
209/468-3420

\je
AS

November 4, 1998

The Vintage Company •
Attn: Dean
2500 W. Rumble Rd. Ste. B
Modesto, CA 95350
RE: PROPOSED "Fairfield and Heritage Inns at 2400 & 2410 Naglee Rd.-Tracy"
Dear Bob Campana,
This letter will indicate Health Department approval of drawings submitted for the
proposed "Heritage Inn Pools and Spas" subject to the following conditions:
As was discussed on 11/4/1998 with Dean, our department is requiring a 3/4hp pump
for the spa filtering system and a lhp pump for the pool filtering system. A 1.5hp for
the spa jets will be allowed per your company's request. With good plumbing
practices, the smaller pumps should work very well.
Must provide anti-hair entrapment covers on all equalizer lines for skimmers. You
can put the spa equalizer line suction in one of the main drain wells if desired to
minimize number of drain covers.
You must provide a chlorine system that does not use stabilized chlorine. Stabilized
chlorine can not be used in these pools because they are indoor pools and spas.
Chlorine in indoor pools does not need to be stabilized and it would only cause more
work and waste by having to drain the pools due to high cyanuric acid levels.
The stair steps shall be uniform with a min. tread of 12in. Except convexly curved top
step is 18in., max. for the riser is 12in.
Depth markers must read as ex.- 3ft. 6in., or 5ft. No 31/2' or 5'.
All drains must be spaced at least three feet and covered with anti-vortex, anti-hair
entrapment covers.
An emergency shut-off switch for the filter and jet pumps on the spas must be
installed, labeled and physically separated from the timer by at least six feet.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
