URS <br /> has prepared this letter to document our discussion on the revisions to the field activities previously <br /> approved by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD)for the installation of the <br /> additional gas-migration monitoring probes and extraction wells at the World Enterprises site in <br /> Stockton, California. This letter was prepared following our meeting at the World Enterprises site and <br /> subsequent telephone conversations. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> SJCEHD transmitted a letter to Tandy Corporation (currently known as RadioShack) dated September <br /> 20, 2004 "requiring the site owner to submit a remediation plan no later than October 22, 2004. URS <br /> prepared a remediation plan dated October 22, 2004 for the World Enterprises site located in Stockton, <br /> California on behalf of RadioShack. Following the submittal of the remediation plan, Tandy Corporation <br /> received a Notice and Order dated October 25, 2004 from SJCEHD. Following review of the <br /> remediation plan, SJCEHD transmitted review comments to Tandy Corporation in a letter dated <br /> November 23, 2004. Morgan Lewis on behalf of Tandy Corporation submitted a Notice of Appeal to <br /> SJCEHD on November 23, 2004. Following the Notice of Appeal, a meeting was held at the Stockton <br /> Courthouse offices on December 9, 2004with representatives from URS and Morgan Lewis representing <br /> RadioShack and SJCEHD. At t this meetiu,A was agreed _that a remediation plan addendum would be <br /> transmitted to SJCEHD_in early January 2005. A remediation plan_addend um dated January 4, 2005 was <br /> transmitted.to -SJCEHD for review.
