SECTIONTHREE Responsibilities and Authorities <br /> 3.5 SUBCONTRACTORS <br /> Subcontractors to URS are subject to prequalification in accordance with URS Safety Management <br /> System(SMS 46) Subcontractor Health and Safety Requirements. This prequalification requires annual <br /> review and renewal. Subcontractors are responsible for: <br /> • Designating a Subcontractor's Safety Representative (SSR)who is the subcontractor supervisor to act <br /> as a liaison between the subcontractor company and URS. <br /> • Meeting or exceeding URS safety standards described in this HASP. <br /> • Providing material safety data sheets applicable to the tasks being performed at the site. <br /> • Participating and contributing insights on health and safety issues during daily tailgate meetings and <br /> conduct safety orientation for new subcontractor employees. <br /> In addition, subcontractors will be required to participate in the project health and safety kickoff and <br /> tailgate safety meetings. Subcontractors will sign the On-Site Health and Safety Tailgate Meeting Record <br /> Form(Appendix B) stating that they have read and understand this HASP,have attended the project/task <br /> kickoff meeting, and agree to comply with its provisions throughout their work on the project. Tailgate <br /> safety meeting documentation is to be submitted to the project file,and will be audited on an unscheduled <br /> basis by the SSO. <br /> 3.6 SITE VISITORS <br /> Site visitors must check in with the SSO and receive a project health and safety orientation from the SSO. <br /> They must acknowledge their understanding of this HASP, abide by the requirements of the plan,and <br /> cooperate with site supervision in ensuring a safe and healthful work site. Prior to entering the site, <br /> visitors seeking to enter the work area will be required to provide documentation of medical clearance and <br /> training certificates. Only properly trained visitors equipped with the required PPE will be allowed within <br /> the work area established for this project.
