nnovative <br /> onstruction <br /> olutions <br /> 9 . 0 SITE CONTROL MEASURES <br /> ICS shall be responsible for conducting operations at the work area in such a controlled fashion <br /> as to reduce the possibility of contact with any contaminants present and to prevent the spread <br /> of contaminants by personnel or equipment leaving the work area /exclusion zones . <br /> As needed , ICS shall delineate specific operations or tasks that will occur and shall institute <br /> specific site and work area entry and decontamination procedures at designated control points . <br /> Three ( 3 ) work zones may need to be established as follows : <br /> • An exclusion /contamination zone , <br /> • A contamination / reduction zone , and <br /> • A support/clean zone . <br /> A map or diagram showing the proposed work zones and a description of the work area control <br /> plan may be included in the HASP . It is understood that the final location of these zones will be <br /> determined by actual site conditions . <br /> 9 . 1 SITE CONTROL PLAN <br /> The site control is established to prevent the spread of contamination throughout the site and to <br /> ensure that only authorized individuals are permitted into potentially hazardous areas . <br /> The SSO will implement site control procedures, as needed , including the following bulleted <br /> items . <br /> • Establish support, contamination reduction , and exclusion zones ; exclusion zone will <br /> consist of excavation and downwind area , to be changed as needed . Delineate using <br /> delineators, snow fence , curtain tapes and signs . Support zone should be upwind of the <br /> site . Use access control at entry and exit from each work zone . <br /> • Establish onsite communication consisting of the following : <br /> o Line -of- sight and hand signals ; <br /> o Air horn ; and <br /> o Cellular telephone or two -way radio if available . <br /> • Establish offsite communication . <br /> • Establish and maintain the " buddy system .
