All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br />#1 Pool Gates MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: Gate does not self close. Provide so that gate self closes/latchs. <br />VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. <br />Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area <br />except where otherwise prohibited bylaw. (CBC 3119B) Pool operator shall keep gates and doors leading into the pool area well <br />maintained. (CCR 65535) <br />#10 Disinfectant Residual <br /> MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: No chlorine detected in pool. Provide chlorine at a minimum of 3.0ppm. <br />VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall <br />maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with <br />cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 <br />ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br />#12 pH Level <br /> MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: pH is below 7.0. Provide pH at a minimum of 7.2. <br />VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br />#29 Recirculation System Operation MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: Filter is turned off. Equipment is to be in operation when pool is available for use. <br />VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Recirculation system shall be in operation whenever the pool is available for use and additional times as <br />needed to maintain clear pool water. (CCR 65525) <br />#37 Electrical Hazards MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: Wastewater from laundry room is backing up into pump room. Repair so that wastewater back up does <br />not occur. <br />VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Electrical equipment installed in the water, walls, deck, or equipment room of a public pool shall comply with <br />California Electrical Code. (CEC 680.4) Light fixtures installed in the pool that operate at more than 15 volts shall be protected by a ground <br />fault circuit interrupter.
