All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #4 Safety Equipment OBSERVATIONS: Rope not attached to life ring. Corrected. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. (CCR 65540) #10 Disinfectant Residual OBSERVATIONS: Free chlorine level at 13.8ppm. Maintain between 2-10ppm. Correct today. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) #15 Operation Records OBSERVATIONS: Pool log not on site. Start today. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall test the disinfectant residual, pH, and spa water temperature a minimum of once per day. Cyanuric acid concentration shall be tested once per month if cyanuric acid is used. Combined chlorine shall be tested as often as necessary to maintain the concentration below 0.4 ppm. Pool operator shall maintain written records of all maintenance and test results for at least two years and shall submit those records to the enforcement agency upon request. (CCR 65523) #22 Skimmer Assembly OBSERVATIONS: One skimmer lacks a weir and shutter valve on float valve assembly and the other lacks the bottom check valve. Provide in 2 weeks. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Pool shall be equipped to provide continuous skimming of the pool water. All parts of the skimmer shall be maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
