All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br />#1 Pool Gates MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The pool gate does not self latch. Correct pool gate to latch properly. Correct ASAP. <br />Closure condition. <br />CAL CODE DESCRIPTION: Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. <br />Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area <br />except where otherwise prohibited bylaw. (CBC 31198) Pool operator shall keep gates and doors leading into the pool area well <br />maintained. (CCR 65535) <br />#4 Safety Equipment <br /> <br />MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The life ring lacks a throw rope. Attach a rope (at least as long as the pool is wide) ASAP. <br />Closure condition. <br />CAL CODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br />#10 Disinfectant Residual <br /> <br />MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The free chlorine level in the pool is 0.2 ppm. Increase the free chlorine level to the range of 2.0 to <br />10.0ppm ASAP. <br />Closure condition. <br />CAL CODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine.
