All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #29 Recirculation System Operation MAJOR OBSERVATIONS: Pump is turned off. Turn the pump back on. Keep pool closed until corrected. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Recirculation system shall be in operation whenever the pool is available for use and additional times as needed to maintain clear pool water. (CCR 65525) #2 Pool Enclosure OBSERVATIONS: Chairs too close to pool edge. Move chairs and equipment away from edge of the pool. Correct today. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Pool area shall be enclosed by one or more of the following: a fence, portion of a building, wall, or other approved durable enclosure. Pool enclosure shall be constructed over a hard permanent material equivalent to concrete and shall be installed no more than 2 inches above the finished grade. Holes, gaps, or openings in the enclosure shall not allow the passage of a 4-inch diameter sphere. Doors, openable windows, or gates of living quarters shall not be permitted as part of the pool enclosure. (CBC 3119B) Pool operator shall keep the pool enclosure well maintained. (CCR 65535) Pool enclosure shall have a minimum effective perpendicularheight of 5 feet and shall be constructed so that it cannot be climbed by small children. Horizontal members shall be spaced at least 48 inches apart. No planters or other climbable structures shall be permitted within 5 feet of the pool enclosure or within a 5-foot arc. Chain link openings shall not be larger than 1 3/4 inches when measured horizontally. Pool enclosures with a height of 4 or more feet are allowed if the enclosure was constructed prior to July 1994. (CBC 3119B) #3 Safety Signs OBSERVATIONS: Safety signs is faded. Fill in the capacity, hours, address of facility and emergency address. Correct in 1 week. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) #4 Safety Equipment OBSERVATIONS: Life ring in the pool with a rope. Provide a rope the length of the pool and take out of pool. Correct today. VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling.
