Printed L4 alarm history and last three alarms were fuel alarms on 050224,
050324 and 050924. TLS has security code that is not known. Turned off TLS security dip switch and entered
programming. Found L4 diagnostics ohms low at 56,675 instead of being above 100,000 ohms. Inspected wiring'in
TLS and all checked well. Pulled 87 annular wrap around sensor and inspected and found sensor wire pulling out
from end and exposing shield. Sensor is dry with no liquid in annular. Tested sensor and TLS alarmed for L4 fuel
alarm. Reinstalled sensor to lowest point in riser and secured. TLS alarmed and cleared for L4 fuel alarm. Turned
TLS security dip switch back on creating and clearing SYS security warning alarm.
Placed all into service with no products dispensed and observed two works fuel their truck. Will order new wrap
around annular sensor, with possible permit needed to be pulled, and return to install along with installing new pull
string as existing pull string is frayed.
Performed Job Safety Analysis and uploaded JSA form to Walton Work Orders.
5/14/24 L4 87 annular alarm.
TLS in alarm for D1 auto dial failure. Turned TLS security dip switch off creating SYS security warning alarm.
Secured forecourt for 87 Oct annular and could not remove explosion proof J -Box cover due to cap seized in place.
Explosion proof box is 4" square and has two conduits coming in from underneath with one union and is right next to
annular riser. Removed squeeze plug but could not pull wire nut connection out. Cut shielded sensor wire outside
J -box and replaced L4 87 Oct unleaded annular sensor with new. Tapped connection and placed inside squeeze
plug hole and secured. Left old sensor on site per manager in solid tagged hazmat drum dated 100623 and is full.
Verified not liquid in riser and then tested sensor for sensor out and fuel alarm and tested well but when in normal
position sensor stays in fuel alarm and shows 50,000 to 52,000 ohms at TLS. TLS dialed out for alarms created but
now also in alarm for D1/4 auto dial failure. Set TLS to dial out now and TLS dialed out to D1/2/3/4 and all
connected an cleared except D1. Connection fails at dial out end in Sacramento and site will need to call them to
reset system on their end. Pulled sensor back out and inspected and all checked well. Removed sensor and
connected directly to TLS and L4 fuel alarm cleared with ohms showing over 100,000 ohms in TLS diagnostics.
Tested sensor and TLS went into L4 fuel alarm and ohms dropped to zero. Checked wiring and all checked well but
low ohms. While doing this TLS went into L9 sensor out alarm on waste oil sump and then cleared. Put sensor back
into normal position and L4 fuel alarm stayed with ohms showing around 52,000. Reinstalled sensor to lowest point
in riser and secured and TLS still shows L4 fuel alarm. Turned TLS security dip switch back and SYS security
warning alarm cleared. Problem is either faulty connection in J -Box or bad wiring from TLS to sensor. Called Shawn
at Walton Engineering and approved to break out J -box. Hand cut out J -box cover and then chiseled out cover
ruminants and cleaned J -box threads. Removed old sensor wiring and wire nuts and made new connections and L4
fuel alarmed cleared and ohms show 101715 Ohms.
Tagged with license decal and secured annular and will need to order and return with 4" Appleton (GRSS75 3/")
cover. All in service with no products dispensed and observed workers dispense fuel. D1 auto dial failure alarm
active on TLS.
