All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR OBSERVATIONS: Free chlorine is >10 ppm. Provide 2-10 ppm. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. Replace in 3 days/ CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the pooL When a pool is used at night, pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK" and shall secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark. (31158) #9 Ladders and Handrails OBSERVATIONS: Handrail is loose. Fix in 2 days. Corrected on site. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool. Ladders and handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed. At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point above the top of the lowest step. Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 31118) Pool operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained. (CCR 65535) #22 Skimmer Assembly OBSERVATIONS: A weir gate is missing in one of the skimmers. Provide weir gate in 3 days. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool shall be equipped to provide continuous skimming of the pool water. All parts of the skimmer shall be maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
