Immediately adjust the pH level of the pool to the range of 7.2 to <br />7.8 or face immediate closure. <br />Unable to correct on site. Pool closed. <br />A re-inspection must occur prior to re-opening to swimmers. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br />This is (Major) Violation. <br />MAJOR <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br />OBSERVATIONS: The emergency signage lacks the following information: the nearest emergency services location (hospital), <br />the phone number of the hospital, the pool location and location address, the pool capacity and the pool hours of operation. <br />Write in this information on the signage today . <br />REPEAT VIOLATION <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br />letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar <br />permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) <br />This is (Minor - Food) Violation. <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br />OBSERVATIONS: The life ring lacks a throw rope. Properly attach a throw rope (at least as long as the pool is wide) to the life <br />ring today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br />This is (Minor - Food) Violation. <br /> #9 Ladders and Handrails <br />OBSERVATIONS: The railings at the deep end exit ladder are loose/wobbly. Repair to proper by 2 weeks. <br />REPEAT VIOLATION <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool. Ladders and <br />handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed. At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a <br />point above the top of the lowest step. Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 3111B) <br />Pool operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained.
