To minimize the human contact with potentially infectious materials,waste devices and instruments by ensuring the safe packaging, storage, treatment and disposal of medical waste. • All spills are to be reported to the Safety Department. • Spills must be cleaned up immediately by a properly trained person using appropriate personal protective equipment in relation to the spill. • Spills are cleaned according to Policy: Spill Management-Hazardous Materials/Waste. • In the event of an employee exposure,the employee shall immediately be evaluated at the Employee Health Services or the Emergency Department.
