The wall will be
constructed of schedule 40, 4" PVC pipe, factory perforated with a minimum of
a 0.020 inch slotted screen which will extend S feet below the top of the
upper zone of saturation, unless site conditions require otherwise.
The hole will be finished with a Christy Box grouted with a slope to
about inch above the existing grade. The well will have a surface seal
extending downward at least four feet from the ground surface within the annu-
lar space, will have a PVC cap to prevent surface contamination, and will be.
used during monitoring well construction. After installation, the well will be
developed by pumping or bybailing and swabbing.
MONITORING i EEL SAMp'l M
Following an initial water Level measurement, the ground water monitoring
well will be sampled using a clean teflon bailer. The bailer will be usedi
first to obtain a sample. from the surface of the water in each well prior to
purging. If a layer of product is detected in the bailer, a sample of the
floating product will be collected and analyzed. If no visable product exists
in the well, three to ten well volumes of water will be removed by bailing or
pumping before sample will be collected using a teflon bailer which has been
steam cleaned with distilled water.
All water samples will be sealed it laboratory cleaned glass containers
with teflon lined lidsi labeled, and immediately placed in iced storage. A
Chain-of-Custody form will be initiated by the sampler and will accompany the
sample to the analytical laboratory.
S
