Team members over 18 years are permitted to work if your below 18 years old not safe and we don't
want to take a risk, if the levels are 2000 ppm-5000ppm
If the alarms the is sounding off none stop laud its not safe to be inside the store. If this occurs, please
exit the store and report right away. It could occur overnight if syrup fine is empty cot is released over-
night. What we need to do is open front door immediately and report to owners right away. Please exit
the store and ask anyone else to exit as well if it goes off during your shift. If your opening the store and
you hear the alarm going off do not enter the store. Please report right away and open the door. There
might be a leak or high co2 in the air. We must report right away. If levels are high we need to call 911
and need fire department to come out.
Emergency situation and preventions
Theft: Dever risk your safety to chase a guest that stole something. Your safety comes first, you can only
verbally acknoMedge when theft occurs or to prevent theft. Call your co-workers for assistance when
this occurs.
Examples of common theft: They fill -up a water cup with soda, after you ring them up they grab a bag of
chips or bottle drink (Only verbally tell them they need to pay the item never get physical or aggressive
remain courtesy and professional)
They grab product and ran out the store: Never chase only verbally acknowledge it.
Assault: Never get physical with a guest or co-worker, if a guest is getting hostile always avoid
confrontation. Never argue, yell, or aggravate our guest. Remember the customer is always right is the
best way to prevent a situation from escalading.
Example: They yell or create a scene while you prepare them food avoid the conflict and just get the
transaction complete. If you price -override and discount to prevent a situation you will never get
punished.
Remember we are a team help each other out but always avoid escalading the situation. Always call 911
if a situation gets out of hand, grab the phone dial they are here for public safety. Our biggest issue is
homeless and it's a difficult situation to handle. As many are on drugs and are crazy. We never want to
get into it with them, escalading a situation only makes things worse. Courtesy is always aur greatest
weapon.
You do have the right to protect yourself in -case a situation occurs. You have the right of self-defense.
Robbery: Review Handout
After robbery lock the door right away anti cal[ 911 to report suspect and give description. After you call
911 report to management, the cops can catch these guys, a description and information can lead to
quick arrest.
Robbery Prevention: Never count cash in the view of customer or while there are a lot of customers
inside the store. Only exception is one minute for our mid-day shift. You can take the drawer to the
backroom and count if you feel unsafe. Always lock the door after we close for business or before we
open for business. When grabbing cash from the box please do it out the view of the customer. Before
morning shift leaves make sure you leave enough change in the cash drawer for night crew, Night crew
