28
5.2.2 Secondary Containment [40 CFR 112.8(c)(2)]
AST’s 1 through AST 6 have double-wall construction which provides the necessary secondary
containment. AST 6 and the 55 gallon drums are located inside a metal containment enclosure
with a containment floor base.
With the exception of the marina with the box fuel dispensers all other loading and unloading
areas are located on a paved surface.
To satisfy EPA secondary containment requirements, one spill response kit is located in
the vicinity of the loading and unloading and dispenser pumping and provides a minimum
capacity of 30 gallons of containment from the kit.
5.2.3 Drainage of Diked Areas [40 CFR 112.8(c)(3)]
This section is not applicable for the facility.
5.2.4 Corrosion Protection [40 CFR 112.8(c)(4)]
This section is not applicable since there are no completely buried storage tanks at this facility.
5.2.5 Partially Buried and Bunkered Storage Tanks [40 CFR 112.8(c)(5)]
This section is not applicable since there are no partially buried or bunkered storage tanks at this
facility.
5.2.6 Inspections and Tests [40 CFR 112.8(c)(6)]
Visual inspections of ASTs by facility personnel are to be performed according to the procedure
described in this SPCC Plan. Leaks from tank seams, gaskets, rivets, and bolts are to be
promptly corrected. All records of inspections and tests are signed by the person
performing the inspection, and must kept at the facility for at least three years. Official records
of tank integrity and pressure tests are presented in Appendix H.
The scope and schedule of certified inspections and tests performed on the facility’s ASTs are
specified in STI Standard SP-001. The external inspection includes ultrasonic testing of the shell,
as specified in the standard, or if recommended by the certified tank inspector to assess the
integrity of the tank for continued oil storage.
