➢ This is a self-directedleaming module regarding the proper use of your trucks Hazardous Materials SpM ICit <br />The purpose of thistrainingmodule is to enable you to safely contain, and clean up a hazardous material <br />spill in the event one is created by your truck. Following the step-by-step procedures outlined in this lesson <br />will allowyou to deal effecyivelywith a situation that has the potential of causing signifficant damage to the <br />environment. <br />Z The learning objectives listed below will help guide your learning process- Please check to make sure you have <br />all the necessary supplies, then proceed through each of the learning steps listed below <br />Upon completion of this -training mo dule, you will b e <br />able to, from memory: <br />L Identify five specific hazardous materials (fluids <br />and solids) contained withinyourvehicle, as well <br />as the three primary sources of potential leaks_ <br />2- Identify each of the ten items contained in a <br />portable hazardous materials spill kit <br />3- Demonstrate, without assistance, each of the <br />"seven steps to success" leading to the control <br />and clean-up of a simulated hazardous material <br />spill. <br />❑ DVD: "Steps to Success - How to Properly Clean Up <br />a Hazardous Material SpM" <br />❑ TVIDVD Player <br />❑ Hands-on Demonstration "Reference Card" <br />❑ Operational Ready -Mix Truck <br />❑ Spill Kit <br />❑ Materials For Simulated Spin <br />❑ Performance Review Checklist <br />Using the learning objectives as yourguide, follow these steps to achieve mastery of this module: <br />View the DVD tape entitled "Steps to Success- - How to Properly Clean Up a Hazardous Materia Is <br />Spill. - <br />Refer to the Reference Card and study the material presented in the video and lesson- Once you <br />feel you understand the material sufficiently enough to meet the objectives as stated above, <br />schedule a time to meet with your instructor. <br />Consu twithyourinstructor: <br />To be successful in this lesson you must complete each objective as stated above.
